When you're approached by someone holding a tin can asking you do donate money, what will you do?
Do you:
1) ignore the person and walked away?
2) shoo the person off from afar?
3) smile and politely decline?
4) donate, get the sticker to "ward off" the rest?
5) donate, wholeheartedly...
I usually will do 1 and 3, until today, when I become the person holding the tin can. There are many who see me as a ghost, going a small round around me to avoid me. There are people who shoo me off even though they are still a distance away from me. They are people who point at the sticker on them, as if trying to use it like an amulet to get me off. Sad thing to see these. Where is the love?
There are also people who went around, dropping $10 into the can, saying that its hard on us. There was a lady who asked me to get into the shade, and don't get sun burn because of that. There was an auntie who even explained why she doesn't trust these donations anymore.
So, do we really look like ghosts trying out free amulets to ward us off. If so, anybody want?
